Green Day; Charles Woodson; Gordon Ramsey; Cheech & Chong: The names of those gracing the Williams-Sonoma Culinary Stage at BottleRock Napa Valley were just as impressive as those on the band flyer. And the cooking exhibitions, chef-celebrity team-ups and other assorted events taking place on the stage provided an experience that no other major music festival can match.
Take Cheech & Chong’s Friday appearance, for example. As stoner comedy icons, the duo took the stage alongside chef Chris Cosentino for a demonstration of smoking techniques (both the food and marijuana variety). Those types of clever pairings were replicated all weekend, with Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool of Green Day joining Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto for a lesson on how to make Sushi that also featured Cool performing on a drum kit made of pots and pans.
