Vernon Davis was recently awarded the Art Visionary Award by Menlo Park non-profit, Art In Action. He received his award at their annual benefit, which is also serves as a fundraiser.
The OBJECT:ART event raised over $200,000 to support equity in visual arts education.
Throughout the night, many people shared their stories on how art impacts them, such as Emcee Mindi Bach talking about what having art at her kids’ school means to her, Founder Judy Sleeth who saw the number of people in the audience carrying her work forward, third graders that were painting in the style of Pollock, Google Doodler Dennis Hwang describing his research into the art and philanthropy of a football star, and Vernon Davis himself revealing how art has been integral to his life.
